Eco-mate developed a plant-based coating that protects the inside of the paper bottle. Not plastic or bio plastic like other paper bottles! This natural coating cleverly prevents the paper bottle from coming into contact with the liquids. And, because this coating is made of 100% plant-based materials, plant sap latex and seaweed extract bio matter, it is completely natural. The paper fibres are also embedded with a natural extract to give water resistance for a specific period of time but still allow for recycling.

Paper is easier to recycle than plastic, breaks down naturally when composted and doesn’t create micro plastics that harm the environment. So, where other bottles and cartons use foil or plastic-based coatings or worse still plastic bags inside, these unique plant-based coating is much better for the planet. This is the reason why these bottles have a shorter shelf life than the competitors, but Eco-mate think that's a small price to pay for a truly eco-friendly product.

Its 100% hypoallergenic too, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin and strong allergies.

Please Note - The packaging isn’t designed to last but to revert back to nature quickly and so every bottle has a shelf life of four months.

They have to put a cork in the top of the bottle to ensure the liquid doesn't leak during transportation. However, it's easy to remove the cork - use a cork screw to remove easily and simply.

When you receive your Eco-Mate product, you'll notice a best before date on the side of the bamboo cap of 4 months. This is due to minor weight loss from liquid evaporation through the cap, a natural occurrence since it is not made of plastic. Rest assured, the quality of the liquid remains unaffected and can still be used beyond this date for 12 months. We recommend decanting the product to a different container during or before the 4 months to extend product usage. Additionally, all our 500ml paper bottles are filled to a 560ml capacity to accommodate for any evaporation.

Simply pour the liquid into a machine dispenser or wash ball. The amount you need depends on the water hardness and level of soiling or if you are handwashing – these recommendations are outlined on the back of the bottle.

Please decant into a suitable airtight container (preferably glass) as soon as possible to avoid loss of product as the 500ml bottles are filled to a 560ml capacity which allows for evaporation during transit. Leakage caused while in storage cannot be rectified.
