Our 8 Tips For Natural Skincare! 2

Looking to make the switch to a more environmentally-friendly, eco, sustainable, plastic-free, natural skincare regime? Here are some tips on how to take care of your skin with vegan, organic, natural skincare the eco way.

#1 Embrace natural fibres

Instead of using disposable wet wipes, makeup remover wipes, disposable cotton mix pads or similar, switch over to natural, eco, zero waste, plastic free, reusable alternatives made from fabrics like bamboo and cotton. Choose from eco cloths, reusable baby wipes, bamboo flannels, reusable cotton rounds, reusable makeup removal pads, sustainable nail polish removal pads, zero waste washcloths, and organic wipes that can be used, washed, and reused with ease, reducing the impact on the environment.

#2 Switch to organic & natural

Organic and natural skincare products are of better quality, kinder on your skin and kinder on the environment. Free from chemicals and pesticides they are a healthier option with fewer toxins to be absorbed into your body. Our very own Peace With The Wild range of organic, natural, vegan moisturisers, vegan face creams, natural face serums, organic foot creams, natural hand creams and natural men’s skincare products are packed with natural and organic ingredients that will leave your skin looking radiant and beautiful. Organic products are great addition to a natural skincare routine! We also stock vegan face scrubs that are made with 100% natural ingredients.

#3 Learn what natural ingredients are best for you

Dry skin? Look for natural body oils, natural moisturisers, vegan face creams, natural face serums, organic foot creams and natural hand creams that contain shea butter and coconut oil. Irritated skin? Look for natural body oils, natural moisturisers, vegan face creams, natural face serums, organic foot creams and natural hand creams that contain lavender oil and aloe vera. Ageing skin? Natural body oils, natural moisturisers, natural face masks, vegan face creams, natural face serums, organic foot creams and natural hand creams that are packed full with frankincense or rose oil. Oily skin? Choose natural body oils, natural moisturisers, natural face masks, vegan face creams, natural face serums, vegan face scrubs, organic foot cream and natural hand creams that contains tea tree, jojoba oil, and witch hazel. Prone to breakouts? Vegan face creams, vegan face scrubs, natural face serums and natural face masks with witch hazel, green tea, and honey are best. Learn which natural ingredients appease which complaints and find the best natural skincare products to suit your skin type.

#4 Switch to eco makeup

If you are doing all the right natural things for your skin when it comes to cleansing, toning and moisturising, but are then piling on makeup full of silicones and chemicals, then you run the risk of undoing all of your good work. If these products then come in plastic, the damage is twice as high! We stock a gorgeous range of eco-makeup including foundation, powders, eye-shadow, mascara, lipstick, nail polish and even glitter that is eco friendly, gentle on your skin, and packaged responsibly.

 #5 Drink lots of water

For your health and amazing natural skin, you should be drinking between 4 and 10 glasses of water a day, depending on your activity level and the current temperature. Staying hydrated is one of the best natural skincare tips and things you can do for a range of skin complaints, and it is totally free, zero waste, natural, vegan and organic!

#6 Eat healthily

Eating heathy is so important when it comes to maintaining healthy, natural skin. Not only that but eating a healthy balanced diet also contributes to your body’s overall health. Ensuring what you are eating is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals will have a significant impact when it comes to the amount of nutrients your skin is getting in order to stay moisturised and radiant. Also to avoid breakouts and acne, it is better to stay away from dairy and high fat products that will increase your body’s oil production and lead to blocked pores.

#7 Opt for eco-friendly packaging

If your natural skincare products or natural men’s skincare products have to come in packaging, at least make sure they are eco, sustainable, recyclable, biodegradable, plant based (where applicable), and plastic-free. This helps minimise waste, reduce plastic pollution and contributes to being more environmentally friendly – our planet will thank us for it! At Peace With The Wild, all our natural skincare and natural men’s skincare products are supplied in eco-friendly packaging that can be recycled. They also come in plastic-free glass jars, eco aluminium tins and sustainable bamboo containers – there is no single-use plastic here.

#8 Invest in bamboo, vegan makeup brushes

As well as our natural skincare, our range of eco, vegan makeup brushes are vegan, PETA certified, and use super soft synthetic fibres allowing for a smooth and flawless finish.

  1. Do your moisturisers contain spf?

    1. Hi Emily, shea butter has a natural SPF of around 6 so any of the moisturisers that contain shea butter do have a natural SPF. If you are looking for something a little higher then the Amazinc Raspberry Butter is SPF 15 and works as both a sun cream and a moisturiser. I hope this helps!
